DataWind, maker of the ultra low cost Akash tablets has launched four new tablets in India as a part of the UbiSlate range of tablets between the price of Rs 2,999 and Rs 4,499.
These tablets come preloaded with the UbiSurfer browser and all the new tablets run of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and have 7-inch displays, 1GHz Cortex A8 processors, an HD video co-processor and 512MB of RAM.
The four models – The 7Ri, 7R+, 7Ci, and the 7C+ all feature similar feature with the R models boasting resistive displays while the C models have capacitive displays. The plus models also integrate smartphone functionality.
Additionally in India these tablets will have unlimited internet connectivity on DataWinds web delivery platform for Rs 100 per month.
