New S Series Monitors by Dell with IPS Panels & Edge to Edge Glasses

Dell's built quite a reputation for delivering solid monitors at reasonable prices, and it's now expanded its offerings in a fairly big way with no less than five new S Series models, some of which boast edge-to-edge glass and/or IPS panels. On the top end is the 27-inch S2740L, which has the most connectivity options of the lot (DVI, VGA, HDMI and a pair of USB ports) and, of course, the highest price tag at $400. From there, things drop to $300 with the 24-inch S2440L (the only non-IPS model of the lot), and go all the way down to $200 for the 21.5-inch S2240M -- the three lower-end models ditch the edge-to-edge glass but still retain minimal bezels. Unlike some of the company's higher-end UltraSharp models, though, all five monitors have a 16:9 aspect ratio instead of 16:10, and you'll get a standard 1920 x 1080 resolution regardless of the size you choose. HTC Accord may become the mid-range 8X

HTC's plans for Windows Phone 8 may be filling out fast. We saw XDA-Developer member Football4PDA post a schematic of the Accord less than a week ago, and today he's posting what could be more concrete information. 
Supposedly, HTC's inaugural device might be named the 8X -- not quite as charming, but definitely simple. More importantly, the software in the claimed leak suggests the company will bring a trace of Sense UI style to the home screen, rather than having to relegate it to the HTC Hub: a live tile would bring the oversized clock and weather that One owners know so well. Just don't anticipate a flagship device here. 
If the specifications are real, the 8X would bear more in common with the Droid Incredible 4G LTE, sharing its 1.2GHz dual-core chip, 8-megapixel rear camera, Beats Audio and NFC while picking up a slightly larger 4.3-inch screen and 16GB of storage. Our main question centers around the unveiling. 
                                                                                  While HTC has an event lined up for later this month, there's no guarantee that the 8X will show up at that gathering or even launch side-by-side with Windows Phone 8 itself.

Facebook Phone: The Facebook phone confirmed for 2013?!

Bloomberg stimulus now famous but very credible rumor that regularly advertises a phone branded Facebook is in preparation ...

Several anonymous sources have told Tim Culpan, Adam Satariano and Olga Kharif Facebook that would close the manufacturer HTC in the development of a hypothetical Facebook Phone noted that a team of former Apple employees will work on the software project.

Finally, and always after these "anonymous sources familiar with the matter," the Facebook phone will be launched in the course of next year, mid-2013 to be exact. Not convinced, we expect to see ...

Nokia Phi with PureView and Arrow Windows Phone 8 renders leaked

While Nokia and Microsoft prepare for their September 5 Windows Phone 8 event, Twitter user @evleaks is hell bent on ruining their grand surprise for the world as he has posted images of the rumored Nokia Phi and Arrow on his Twitter page.

The images leaked by @evleaks also include captions that posit the Nokia Phi to be the Lumia 920 which will have a 4.5-inch display and a PureView camera. The Nokia Arrow on the other hand will be handed the Lumia 820 name that will have a 4.3-inch display. Notably we notice some ‘Carl Zeiss’ branding near the lens, which is quite normal for Nokia phone. Both Nokia Lumia 800 and the Lumia 900 have camera lens’ built by Carl Zeiss.

Yesterday, even MyNokiaBlog had posted a similar image of the Nokia Arrow, but it did not have any details regarding the device.

Apple India ramps up sales team in time for iPhone 5 launch

Apple is currently hiring people for its sales team in India in the build-up to the launch of the next iPhone. As Techtxr.com reported, Apple will be retailing the iPhone 5 in India in the open market rather than relying solely on its carrier partners Aircel and Airtel. This means Apple would import and distribute the iPhone 5 on its own and make it widely available, unlike earlier when it was imported and distributed by the carriers.

We have exclusively learned that Apple India is hiring sales people in junior and mid-level positions. Many of them have been poached from other handset vendors in the country. They are being hired for the sale of “iPhone, iPad and iPod” line-up, which are different from those that handle Apple’s Mac products including the iMac and MacBook range.

Apple CEO, Tim Cook, might not consider India as a top priority market but Apple does not want to completely ignore one of the fastest growing markets for smartphones. We expect Apple to launch the iPhone 5 (or whatever it is eventually called) in India close to Diwali this November.

Mozilla Firefox 15 released, comes with numerous tweaks

In its battle with Chrome, Internet Explorer and Safari, Mozilla has up the ante and has started releasing new versions of its popular web browser at break-neck speeds. The latest version, 15, released earlier in the day, comes with a number of goodies relating to security, stability, gaming and performance.

Notably, in this update Mozilla has ramped up the support for WebGL, the open standard for gaming on the web. The new release adds support for compressed textures, which make better use of graphics card memory,  and allows developers to use higher-resolution textures in their games.

Besides this, Firefox 15 adds support for high resolution timing APIs which will give developers the chance to control interactive content down to the thousandth of a millisecond. This update will make Firefox, at least for the time being the definitive web browser for gaming on the web, with its unprecedented support for open web technologies like HTML5, WebGL and JavaScript.

To showoff some of these new found capabilities of the browser, Mozilla showed off a demo of a first person shooter called BananaBread that is based off the Cube 2: Sauerbraten 3D gaming engine. While this game is also compatible on Google Chrome, no other browser supports it and its performance on the new Firefox was remarkably better.

With Firefox 15, Mozilla is also plugging memory leaks and has optimized the auto-update process by enabling background updating. There is even something for coders as Mozilla has added a Javascript debugger in the web browser that allows developers to analyze locally-running applications, apart from also enabling the ability to network to debug JavaScript applications running on Firefox for Android.

Mozilla left no stone un-turned and also updated the tablet version of FireFox for Android. The new tablet browser not only comes with a redesigned UI, but also adds long asked for features like the ability to switch between mobile and desktop websites. One can access information like browsing history, bookmarks, passwords and form data right off the home screen.

For Android Honeycomb tablets, Firefox even adds support for new Flash based apps, videos and HTML5 websites. As it is based off the desktop version of the app, the tablet version of Firefox maintains support for security features like  Do Not Track, Master Password, HTTP Strict Transport Security as well.

The previous version of Firefox for Android was compatible with all Android 2.1 devices and beyond. Things have changed a bit with this release as Mozilla has dropped support for Android 2.1 and Firefox will now only work on devices running Android 2.2 Froyo and beyond.
