AMD's Hondo tablet chip gets powered with Windows 8 and Linux,excluding Android !

If rumors are to believed, News is that AMD feels that Windows 8 comes with plenty of the stuff, so it sees no commercial need to make its forthcoming tablet chip -- codenamed Hondo -- play nice with Android too. 

Speaking to The Inquirer, corporate VP Steve Belt said it was a "conscious decision" not to go after compatibility with Google's OS, because AMD doesn't want to spread itself into "other markets." What could this mean for us tablet-buyers? No dual-booting Windows / Android magic on AMD devices, for one thing, which is perhaps a shame now that ASUS has shown off the combo's potential. On the other hand, Belt made it clear that Hondo will support Linux, which -- for now, at least -- is more than can be said of Intel's rival low-power silicon, Clover Trail.

HP ties up Touch Friendly Windows 8 for new All-in-One PCs

HP is clearly taking a page out of Apple’s playbook. Its quite a well known fact that some of the Envy Laptops produced by HP have an intense Apple MacBook Pro influence. Now that the extremely touch-friendly Windows 8 is coming, HP is taking a page out of the iMac line of AiOs with its latest Spectre line of AiOs.
The top of the line model, the Spectre One features a 23-inch panel, measuring 11.5mm, but it drops the touch screen seen in the TouchSmart line of AiOs produced by HP. Instead, like the iMac it features a trackpad that supports Windows 8 gestures. Other features include, the latest Intel Ivy Bridge processors, 6GB of RAM, 750GB or 1TB of HDD space, Beats Audio, NFC and a HP TrueVision web camera.
As of now the release for the US market stands for November 14 with a pricing of $1,299, though no Indian release has been announced.
Besides this, HP has launched two TouchSmart AiOs that come with touch displays with support for Windows 8 gestures, the latest Intel Ivy Bridge silicon and come in 20-inch and 23-inch display sizes. Both models will cost $849 and $1,099 respectively and both these be available on October 23, which is weirdly three days before Microsoft launches Windows 8. Another AiO product called the Pavilion 20 has also been announced and it will also be Windows 8 compliant and it is being billed as an entry-level AiO offering at $499.
Again all these computers have only a US release date, so there is no information regarding an Indian release.

Sony Vaio Duo 11 Windows 8 dockable tablet on Internet now

Windows 8 is scheduled to hit markets on October 26, but that does not mean that we won’t get a peek at the hardware that will power the OS. Microsoft has already done that with its Surface, Acer and Asus showed some devices at Computex and Samsung is set to showcase something at IFA. Where does that leave Sony? Well, photographs of a Windows 8 based Sony tablet, dubbed the Vaio Duo 11, have emerged on the Internet.PocketNow has the official-looking press photos of the device, which happens to be an 11-inch Windows 8 convertible.

The slate seems to borrow some ideas from Microsoft’s own Surface, but unlike the Surface its keyboard is fixed on to the main chassis and it can slide back when one wants to use it solely like a traditional tablet. The images also suggest that the tablet has a backlit keyboard, but interestingly, there is no sign of a touchpad or a mouse. It is also likely to run on Windows Pro than Windows RT, considering one of the photographs shows a full-fledged MS Office screenshot.
